Old West

Here is the latest. I call this one, Old West. Growing up with westerns on television and in the movies keeps this type of image forever rolling around in my imagination.

Shaman

I titled this sketch, Shaman...naturally. He looks like that type of dude with strange little faces stuck in the woods and weeds watching him.

Ship

More in this series. I called this one, ship, for obvious reasons. I've also started a canvas using sharpie pens and unprimed canvas. I guess I'll see how that turns out. I can't wait until spring time because I plan to paint my small pick-up truck with a sharpie. That will be a real experience!!

Cabin

This is the latest picture in the same vein as my last few posts. I have always enjoyed the work of Charles Burchfield to which there may be a superficial connection. When I was in college I had a real admiration of Vassily Kandinsky, especially his very early works that drew their inspiration from Russian folk art. I thought the idea of a pastoral cabin scene dovetailed nicely with that motif.

Man

Finally, something new. I call it man because..well... what else would I call it? I've also changed the name of my blog, or at least the header is changed.
